His works find their way into the reperturary of the leading ensembles of Ukraine. They have been performed at many festivals in Europe.

OLEKSANDR KOZARENKO (1963-2023), composer, pianist, musicologist. He graduated from the Kyiv Conservatory of Music in the class of piano by Volodymyr Vorobiov, composition by Myryslav Skoryk and musicology by Ivan Lyashenko. In 2004, he completed an internship at Julius-Maximilians-Universität in Würzburg. He holds a doctorate in musicology.

As a pianist, he was a first-prize winner at the Mykola Lysenko All-Ukrainian Music Competition, and was awarded the L. Revutsky and M. Lysenko state prizes for his compositional output. For many years, as a pianist-cameralist, he partnered the outstanding Ukrainian violinist Lidia Shutko. He taught composition and theoretical subjects at the Lviv Academy of Music. His work encompasses all types of music – symphonic, opera, ballet, choral, chamber and vocal. He has written music for about 50 theatrical exhibitions. His music was inspired by various cultural phenomena, it is characterized by polystylism, and the influence of the music of the Hutsul and Pokuttia regions is also significant. His works find their way into the reperturary of the leading ensembles of Ukraine. They have been performed at many festivals in Europe.
