Details of the musical events organised by the Pro Musica Viva Foundation and those in which it participates
- The ROZTOCZE (SPREAD) of MUSIC‘Roztocze (Spread) of Music’! We spread music around Roztocze, which crosses the Polish-Ukrainian border. We cross that border with a Polish-Ukrainian repertoire.
- POLISH MUSIC IN UKRAINEThe Pro Musica Viva Foundation, based on a grant from the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage in cooperation with the National Philharmonic of Ukraine in Kyiv and the Khmelnytskyi, Poltava and Cherkasy philharmonics, as well as The National Ensemble of Soloists “Kyiv Camerata,” is organizing concerts featuring Polish music in the context of world classics in 2024.
- Polish-Ukrainian Musical DialoguesIn this time of war by Russian aggression in Ukraine, we do not stop building Polish-Ukrainian bridges, believing that Polish-Ukrainian understanding and cooperation are the basis for security and good development in our region.
- POLISH MUSIC IN UKRAINEThe Pro Musica Viva Foundation, based on a grant from the Ministry of Culture, National Heritage and Sport in cooperation with the UKR Artists Agency, organised four concerts featuring Polish music in autumn 2021 in various Ukrainian cultural centres – Kharkiv, Dnipro, Chernivtsi and Mariupol.
- CONTRASTS – 2021The Pro Musica Viva Foundation supported the presentation of Polish music and Polish performers at the XXVII “CONTRASTS” International Festival of Contemporary Music in Lviv.
- POLISH MUSIC IN UKRAINEIn 2020, we celebrated the 210th anniversary of the birth of Fryderyk Chopin.
- Polish-Ukrainian musical dialoguesThe Pro Musica Viva Foundation organised concerts in Kiev, Odessa and Lviv under the name ‘Polish-Ukrainian Musical Dialogues’.
- LVIV PIANO TRIOThe Pro Musica Viva Foundation, based on a grant from the Targówek District of the City of Warsaw in cooperation with the “Zacisze” and “Świt” Culture Houses, organised two concerts by the Lviv Piano Trio. The concerts took place on 27 September 2020 at DK “Zacisze” and on 19 October 2020 at DK “Świt”.
- CAPPELLA CORALE VARSAVIANA in WarsawThanks to a grant from the City of Warsaw, we organised concerts by the CAPPELLA CORALE VARSAVIANA Choir under the direction of Roman Rewakowicz.
- Litanies of Our Lady of the Gate of Dawn by Moniuszko in UkraineLitanies of Our Lady of the Gate of Dawn by Moniuszko in Ukraine
- MONIUSZKO – UKRAINEOn 15 September in Khmelnytsky and 17 September 2019 in Zhytomyr, concerts dedicated to the 200th anniversary of Stanislav Moniuszko’s birth were held. They were attended by soloists of operas in Kyiv and Lviv, as well as the Choir and Symphony Orchestra of the Khmelnytsky Philharmonic conducted by Roman Rewakowicz.
- Cappella Corale Varsaviana – tour Latvia, LithuaniaIn the first week of October 2018. The Pro Musica Viva Foundation organised a concert tour of the CAPPELLA CORALE VARSAVIANA Choir conducted by ROMAN REWAKOWICZ to cities in Latvia and Lithuania based on grants from the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, the City of Warsaw and ZAiKS.
- INDEPENDENCE – 3 CONCERTS IN KIYVThe Pro Musica Viva Foundation organised 3 concerts in Kyiv dedicated to the 100th anniversary of regaining independence.
- Cappella Corale Varsaviana – tour Belarus, UkraineIn late June and early July 2018. The “Pro Musica Viva” Foundation organised a concert tour by the CAPPELLA CORALE VARSAVIANA Choir under the direction of ROMAN REWAKOWICZ to cities in Belarus and Ukraine based on grants from the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, the City of Warsaw and ZAiKS.
- Lviv Piano Trio 2018In 2018, the Foundation, in cooperation with the “Zacisze” and “Świt” Culture Houses, organised three concerts of the Lviv Piano Trio in the Targówek District.
- Lviv Piano Trio in WarsawThe Pro Musica Viva Foundation, in cooperation with Dom Kultury “Świt” and based on a grant from the Office of the Targówek District Council of the City of Warsaw, organised a series of three Chamber Music Concerts with the participation of the Lviv Piano Trio.
- International Artistic Meetings “Yuri Laniuk and friends”The Festival of International Artistic Encounters “Yuri Laniuk and Friends”, dedicated to the 60th anniversary of Lviv composer Yuri Laniuk, took place in Lviv from 21-26 September 2017. The opening concert featured the “Virtuosi of Lviv” Chamber Orchestra conducted by Roman Rewakowicz.
- Musical dialogues Belarus – Poland – UkraineThe Pro Musica Viva Foundation, in collaboration with the Lublin Philharmonic, organised a concert featuring the ‘Kiev Soloists’ Chamber Ensemble conducted by Roman Rewakowicz. The soloist was accordionist Klaudiusz Baran. The concert took place on 20 May 2017 at the Concert Hall of the Lublin Philharmonic.
- Concerts in Kyiv and Minsk in May 2017The Pro Musica Viva Foundation, in cooperation with the Polish Institute in Kyiv and the Polish Institute in Minsk, organised concerts featuring the Kiev Soloists Chamber Ensemble under the direction of Roman Rewakowicz. The soloist was accordionist Klaudiusz Baran
- Jakub Frączek – marimbistHis greatest dream was to perform on the boards of one of the stages at Carnegie Hall in New York. Thanks to hard work and perseverance, this dream could come true!
- MICHAŁ LORENC – “COVENANT”The Pro Musica Viva Foundation collaborated with SOS MUSIC on the world premiere of Michał Lorenc’s piece ‘Covenant’, written for the 1050th anniversary of the Baptism of Poland. The concert took place on 11 November 2016 at the Temple of Divine Providence in Warsaw, inaugurating its opening.
- Concert of the National Choir of Ukraine “DUMKA”On 24 October 2016 at 19:00, a concert dedicated to the 25th anniversary of Ukraine’s independence took place at the Concert Hall of the National Philharmonic in Warsaw, with the participation of the National Choir of Ukraine “DUMKA”.
- XXII International Contemporary Music Festival “Contrasts” in LvivThe XXII International Festival of Contemporary Music “CONTRASTS” took place in Lviv on 29.09-09.10.2016.
- Polish-Ukrainian musical dialogues in GdanskThe Pro Musica Viva Foundation, the Polish Baltic Philharmonic and the Consulate of Ukraine in Gdansk, in cooperation with the Gdansk Branch of the Union of Ukrainians in Poland, based on a grant from the City of Gdansk and the sponsorship of the GALCA Lviv Coffee Factory and the companies BERO Polska and MP Trading, organised a concert entitled. “POLISH-Ukrainian MUSICAL DIALOGI”, which took place on 8 September 2016.
- Polish-Ukrainian musical dialogues in Warsaw 2016The Pro Musica Viva Foundation in cooperation with Stołeczna Estrada based on funding from the City of Warsaw organised a concert entitled. “POLISH-Ukrainian MUSICAL DIALOGUES”, which took place on 6 September 2016 at 7.00 p.m. at the Witold Lutosławski Concert Studio of the Polish Radio with the participation of the Chamber Ensemble “KYIV SOLOISTS” conducted by Roman Rewakowicz.
- Polish-Ukrainian musical dialogues in UkraineThe Pro Musica Viva Foundation and the Chamber Ensemble “Kiev Soloists” with the status of a National Cultural Institution of Ukraine realised a series of concerts entitled “Polish-Ukrainian Musical Dialogues” in nine cities of central and eastern Ukraine. “Polish-Ukrainian musical dialogues”.
- 60th Jubilee of IGOR SZCZERBAKOVOn 19 November 2015, the prominent Ukrainian composer IGOR SZCZERBAKOV celebrated his 60th birthday. On this occasion, a concert was held in the Concert Hall of the Lviv Philharmonic Hall with the participation of the Lviv Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra conducted by Roman Rewakowicz.
- XXI International Contemporary Music Festival CONTRASTSThe 21st International Festival of Contemporary Music “CONTRASTS” took place in Lviv on 1-11.10.2015. The Pro Musica Viva Foundation collaborated with the Lviv Philharmonic to organise the final concert of the Festival with the participation of the “Lviv Virtuosi” Chamber Orchestra conducted by Roman Rewakowicz.
- Concert of Ukrainian music in WarsawThe Pro Musica Viva Foundation, based on a grant from the City of Warsaw, as well as on the financial support of the “Vidrogenia” Foundation and the “Caravan” Company, organised a UKRAINIAN MUSIC CONCERT performed by the KYIV SOLOISTS Chamber Ensemble conducted by ROMAN REWAKOWICZ. The concert took place on Wednesday 24 June 2015 at the Church of the Holy Cross in Warsaw.
- Concert of Ukrainian music in PrzemyślThe Pro Musica Viva Foundation in cooperation with the Przemyśl City Hall organised a CONCERT OF UKRAINIAN MUSIC performed by the Chamber Ensemble KYIV SOLOISTS under the direction of ROMAN REWAKOWICZ. The concert took place on Monday 22 June 2015 at the Roman Catholic Cathedral in Przemyśl.
- XXV Festival “Musical Season Premieres” in KyivThe National Union of Composers of Ukraine organised the International Festival of Contemporary Music “Musical Premieres of the Season” for the 25th time, which took place in Kiev from 25-30 May 2015. The final concert of the Festival featured the National Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine and the National Choir of Ukraine “Dumka” conducted by Roman Rewakowicz.
- Polish and Ukrainian music in Lviv29 October 2014. The Pro Musica Viva Foundation, in cooperation with the Lviv Philharmonic with financial support from the Polish Institute in Kyiv, organised a concert featuring the “Virtuosos of Lviv” Chamber Orchestra conducted by Bartosz Żurakowski.
- Polish-Ukrainian musical dialoguesIn 2014. The “Pro Musica Viva” Foundation, based on a grant from the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage in cooperation with the Khmelnitsky and Lviv philharmonics, realised a series of concerts entitled. “Polish-Ukrainian musical dialogues”.
- Polish-Ukrainian musical dialogues in Warsaw 2014The Pro Musica Viva Foundation in collaboration with the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music organised a concert in Warsaw entitled. “Polish-Ukrainian musical dialogues”.
- Andrzej Jagodzinski Jazz Trio in UkraineOn 7 and 8 June 2014. The “Pro Musica Viva” Foundation together with the Lviv Philharmonic organised concerts featuring the Jazz Trio of Andrzej Jagodzinski, singer Agnieszka Wilczynska and the Lviv Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra.
- XXIV Festival Music premieres of the season in KyivFrom 24-31 May 2014, the XXIV Music Premieres of the Season Festival took place in Kyiv. This festival is one of the most important events of new music in Ukraine.
- Polish-Ukrainian music premieresAt the burning revolutionary Independence Square in Kyiv, symphonic works by Anna Havrylets, Jerzy Kornowicz and Igor Shcherbakov were premiered as part of the ‘Composer Commissions’ programme.
- Lutosławski in RussiaIn the Year of Lutosławski, the Pro Musica Viva Foundation organised four concerts featuring the music of the eminent Polish composer in four Russian cities: Belgorod, Rostov-on-Don, Ufa and Nizhny Novgorod.
- Lutoslawski in Ukraine2013 is the Year of Witold Lutosławski – the 100th anniversary of the composer’s birth. The Pro Musica Viva Foundation, in collaboration with the Polish Institute in Kiev and a number of musical institutions in Ukraine, has organised a series of concerts in that country featuring the music of Witold Lutosławski.
- Polish choral music in UkraineOn 3 October 2013, the Kyiv Music Fest at the Concert Hall of the National Philharmonic of Ukraine hosted a concert featuring the National Choir of Ukraine “Dumka” under the direction of Roman Rewakowicz.
- Karol Szymanowski – 130th birth anniversaryOn 8 December 2012, a concert was held in Lublin to mark the 130th anniversary of Karol Szymanowski’s birth, with the participation of the Symphony Orchestra of the Lublin Philharmonic conducted by Roman Rewakowicz.
- Wojciech Kilar – 80th birth anniversaryIn 2012, we celebrated the 80th anniversary of Wojciech Kilar’s birth. On this occasion, the Pro Musica Viva Foundation organised 3 concerts in Ukraine – in Ivano-Frankivsk, Uzhhorod and Lviv.
- Karol Szymanowski – Minsk, KyivAs part of the I,CULTURE cultural programme accompanying the Polish Presidency of the Council of the European Union, concerts featuring the music of Karol Szymanowski were held in Minsk on 12.11.2011 and Kiev on 19.11.2011, with the participation of Belarussian choirs and orchestras under the direction of Roman Rewakowicz.
- Concert of the Lviv Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra in WarsawOn 20 October 2011, a concert was held at the National Philharmonic in Warsaw as part of the ‘Thursday Music Meetings’ series, performed by the Lviv Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra conducted by Roman Rewakowicz.
- All-night vigil by RACHMANINOFFCappella Corale Varsaviana conducted by Roman Rewakowicz performed Sergei Rachmaninoff’s ‘Vsenoszcznoye bdieniye’ (All-night vigil) op. 37
- Lviv Piano TrioThree concerts featuring the Lviv Piano Trio were held at the Stanislavsky Theatre in the Royal Lazienki Park in Warsaw.
- Warsaw Choir Festival “On the Royal Route”Between 1 and 5 August 2009, the Foundation inaugurated the Warsaw Choral Festival Na Królewskim Trakcie.
- Young Polish musicians play music by young Ukrainian composersDuring the 2008 tour of the Polish Sinfonia Iuventus Orchestra conducted by Roman Rewakowicz in Poland and Ukraine, 8 concerts featuring music by young Ukrainian composers were held.
- 2nd Warsaw Choir Festival “On the Royal Route”The 2nd Warsaw Choir Festival ‘Na Królewskim Trakcie’ took place from 2 to 5 August 2010.
- Signed – SzymanowskiBased on Karol Szymanowski’s poetry and prose, the performance presented a little-known area of the composer’s work – literature and poetry. The dramatic axis of the performance was formed by fragments of the novel ‘Efebos’ and selected poems by Szymanowski.
- Chamber music concert of Polish and Ukrainian musicProbably no corner of Europe has experienced stronger upheavals in the last century than the Slavic region. - Concert of Music by Wojciech Kilar in LvivAn Extraordinary Symphonic Concert by WOJCIECH KILAR, born in Lviv in 1932, was held at the Lviv Opera and Ballet Theater on October 10, 2003.
- IV Festival of Polish Culture in UkraineFestivals of Polish Culture in Ukraine have a history. For the first time the Festival was held in 1996 in Lviv.
- Krzysztof Penderecki – Credo in LvivOn 12 October 1999, KRZYSZTOF PENDERECKI’S ‘CREDO’ was performed at the Lviv Opera and Ballet Theatre as part of the 5th ‘Contrasts’ Festival of Contemporary Music.
