Pro Musica Viva Foundation – to make music live!
The Foundation’s task is to disseminate musical culture. Especially that which makes up the tradition of high culture, marked in the past by Bach, Beethoven, Chopin, and today by Britten or Lutoslawski. Since its inception in 1998, the Foundation has been building Polish-Ukrainian and Ukrainian-Polish musical bridges. We have organized many musical events to promote Polish music in Ukraine and Ukrainian music in Poland. Pro Musica Viva – to make music live! This is the goal of our Foundation, presenting music that has the hallmarks of harmony, although it is not necessarily widely known.With our activities we want to draw attention to music – this elusive, yet so concrete and wonderful area of our lives!
MUSICAL CULTURE OF UKRAINE
We know little about the culture of our neighbors. Especially the East, the closest one, which once co-founded the Jagiellonian Republic, is little known to us. In this short sketch, I will try to introduce the musical culture of Ukraine, a country that has been building its state independence again since 1991.
