Signed – Szymanowski

A performance based on Karol Szymanowski's poetry and prose

On 2 December 2007, in cooperation with Dom Kultury "Centrum Łowicka", the "Pro Musica viva" Foundation staged a show called "Signed - Szymanowski", presenting a little-known area of Szymanowski's work - literature and poetry. The dramatic axis of the show was formed by fragments of the novel "Efebos" and selected poems by Szymanowski.


Some of the poems in the form of songs were in the ragtime style (in the novel "Efebos", the author repeatedly and very warmly refers to this musical climate). Specially composed music to Szymanowski's texts created a good atmosphere for the presentation of Szymanowski's literary work. 
 

Oh, I have never had periods ,

which are poetically called losing myself in music.

How much closer to poetry I am!

I even write poems myself.
