Her work focused on various genres of music-making – she wrote works for symphony orchestra, chamber ensembles and choir.

ANNA HAVRYLETS (1958-2022) – graduated from the Mykola Lysenko Lviv State Conservatory of Music in 1982, studying in the composition class of V. Flis. In 1984 she completed postgraduate studies in composition at the Kyiv State Conservatory of Music, studying in the class of Myroslav Skoryk.
She was a member of the Composers’ Union of Ukraine since 1985. From 1984 to 1992, she worked as a speaker for the Composers’ Union of Ukraine. Since 1992, she has been teaching at the National Music Academy of Ukraine in Kyiv, currently as a professor of the composition department, serving as dean of the composition and music theory faculty since 2004. In 2011, she was elected chairwoman of the Kyiv Branch of the Composers’ Union of Ukraine. Anna Hawrylec is the winner of the first All-Ukrainian Song Festival “Red Ruta” (1989), the International Composer Competition named after Ivanna and Marian Kots (1995), and she was awarded the Taras Shevchenko Prize (1999), Grand Prix of the competition “Spiritual Psalms of the Third Millennium” within the framework of the Choral Festival “Golden Domes of Kyiv” (2001), Artem Vedel Artistic Award “Kyiv” (2005), received the title “Meritorious activist of the arts of Ukraine” (2005), Knight of the Order of Princess Olga of the Third Degree (2008), as well as the Order of St. Vladimir the Great (2005). Hawrylets’s compositions are performed at concerts and festivals in Ukraine, Russia, the USA, Canada, Switzerland, France, the Netherlands, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Lithuania and other countries around the world. Her music is presented in radio and television programs. The composer actively works in various genres of music-making – she has written works for symphony orchestra, chamber ensembles and choir.
