Founded in 1990, Kyiv Chamber Choir is one of the leading Ukrainian chamber ensembles of choral music.

One of Ukraine’s leading chamber ensembles of choral music. Founded in 1990 by talented Kyiv conductor Mykola Hobdych, it quickly gained international popularity. It is the professional choir of the City of Kyiv.

Valued for its performance discipline, harmony of voices and refined, engaging sound. Its repertoire includes Ukrainian and world classics, from the Middle Ages to contemporary music. He is an acclaimed performer of music by Ukrainian composers of the so-called “Golden Age” – Dmytro Bortniansky, Artem Vedel and Maxim Berezovsky, promotes the music of contemporary Ukrainian composers, and reaches out to folk music. He has performed with great success in many European countries, as well as in Canada and the USA. He has sung at Carnegie Hall in New York, the BBC’s St. John’s Smith Square concert hall in London, the cathedrals of Reims, Strasbourg, Chartres; the philharmonics of Utrecht, Amsterdam, Berlin, among others. It is the winner of the “Golden Diploma” of the 1st R. Schuman Choir Competition (Zwickau, Germany), the Grand Prix of the Festival of Orthodox Music in Hajnówka and the International Choir Competition in Llangolen (Wales). The discography of the ensemble counts more than 20 CDs, including those issued by prestigious record labels of Germany, France, the USA.
