Composer, manager of musical projects, scholarship holder of the “Gaude Polonia” program of the Polish Minister of Culture and National Heritage.

BOHDAN SEHIN (born 1976 in Borshchov, Ternopil region). Composer, manager of musical projects. He graduated from the National Academy of Music in Lviv (studied composition with M. Skoryk). He consulted in composition with A. Pärt, B. Furrer, A. Shchetinsky, Y. Shaked. He was twice a scholarship holder of the Polish Minister of Culture and National Heritage program “Gaude Polonia” (2003, 2006), studying with Zbigniew Bujarski in Cracow and Zygmunt Krauze in Warsaw.

Recipient of the “Warsaw Autumn Friends Foundation” grant (2003). He received a grant under the “Gulliver Connect” program (2008) and a grant from the President of Ukraine (implemented in 2008-2010). He has composed at the request of the Polish Institute in Kyiv and within the framework of the “Collections” program – priority “Composer Orders” implemented by the Institute of Music and Dance. Since 2009, he has completed a number of projects devoted to contemporary music. In 2010, he became the artistic director of “Ensemble Nostri Temporis.” He is the founder and artistic director of the COURSE International New Music Workshop and the Ukrainian Biennial of New Music. Since 2012, he has held the position of commercial director for the development of contemporary music of the Lviv Philharmonic and executive director of the Contrasty International Festival of Contemporary Music. Major works: Why is my verse so barren of new pride (dedicated to Arvo Pärt) for countertenor, two tenors, bass and seven instruments to texts of Sonnet 76 by W. Shakespeare (2003); …, meanwhile it is July how (cruelly) beautiful…, for soprano and orchestra (2007); ICARUS for large ensemble (2010); DAEDALUS for chamber ensemble (2011); Interaction forms for chamber ensemble and video (2011); And how the sailors of the earth enjoy the view…. for organ (2011, version for button accordion 2012); TALOS for string quartet (2014); Gamma Bootes for violin and piano (2015).
