LUBAVA SYDORENKO (born 1979) is a composer, a graduate of the Mykola Lysenko Music Academy in Lviv in the class of Yuriy Laniuk, a member of the Composers’ Union of Ukraine. She is a laureate of the Lev Revutsky (2007) and BorYs Lyatoshynsky (2015) state awards, a recipient of, among others, the “Gaude Polonia” scholarship program of the Polish Minister of Culture and National Heritage (2005, in the class of Zbigniew Bujarski at the Academy of Music in Krakow) and the “Ernst von Siemens Musikstiftung” Foundation (Munich, Germany 2009). He holds the title of professor of music sciences and doctor of philosophy.
Her works, representing a wide spectrum of genres – from symphonic and chamber music to electronic music, have been included on 4 CDs, which have been included in television and radio archives in Ukraine, Poland and Germany. These works are performed with great success in many countries around the world by leading Ukrainian and foreign music ensembles. The composer regularly participates in many festivals of contemporary music in Ukraine and abroad: “Tribune of Contemporary Women Composers” in Cologne (Germany), “Kyiv Music Fest” and “Musical Premieres of the Season” in Kyiv, “Contrasts” in Lviv, “Two Days and Two Nights” in Odesa, and others. She has worked closely with Andrzej Chłopecki, as well as with the Warsaw Cellonet ensemble under the artistic direction of Andrzej Bauer. Since 2015, she has been actively working with the Polish-Ukrainian Foundation named after Ignacy Jan Paderewski.
