The "CONTRASTS" International Contemporary Music Festival in Lviv has been held since 1995 and is one of the most important contemporary music stages in Ukraine. Since its inception, it has also been an important venue for the promotion of Polish music.
This year's edition of "Contrasts" will also have many Polish accents. The final concert of the festival will be conducted by the Polish conductor Błażej Wincenty Kozłowski. The programmes of the various concerts of the festival will include works by Polish composers: Witold Lutosławski, Józef Koffler, Marcel Chyrzyński, Andrzej Nikodemowicz, Henryk Mikołaj Górecki, Roman Haubenstock-Ramati, Jerzy Kornowicz, Błażej Wincenty Kozłowski with the participation of Lviv and Kharkiv chamber musicians, as well as the Lviv Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra, the Lviv Choir "Gloria", the Lviv Chamber Orchestra "Akademia". The Pro Musica Viva Foundation, thanks to a grant from ZAiKS, supports the presentation of Polish music and Polish performers at this Festival.
